Verge (XVG) CEO Reveals Date Of Exclusive Partnership Announcement

The popular cryptocurrency Verge (XVG) stood out as the only top cryptocurrency to increase in value on what was another ugly day of trading on Sunday for cryptocurrency investors.
Appearing exclusively on YouTube’s The Larry and Joe Show, Verge creator and CEO, Justin Sunerok, spoke with the hosts for nearly one hour about the burgeoning blockchain project which, per their blackpaper, claims to be “the most privacy focused cryptocurrency.”
The conversation mostly revolved around an exclusive announcement shared by the Verge figurehead that the multi-algorithm cryptocurrency is set to divulge the particulars of the mysterious partnership they’ve recently been teasing the crypto community with.
Sunerok, bound by an NDA, was able to tell Larry and Joe that all will be shared on Tuesday April 17. The Verge CEO also added that on the day prior, “we’re going to be doing something special.”
Sunerok did his best to provide information despite the non-disclosure parameters:
Everybody that’s been in Verge waiting for this is going to be really happy. There’s no way to be unhappy about the coin that you love entering a gigantic market exclusive adoption…I know it’s going to be exclusive for a long time.”
The chief executive explained that Verge, despite being loosely associated with privacy-based coins like Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC), hadn’t been chosen by the partnering corporation for its anonymous features:
It just kind of so happens that we’re a privacy-based coin…but I think one of the most appealing parts of Verge to a lot of the larger companies is that we kind of come with a really big community.”
For those who missed out, it was just toward the end of March when Verge ran a crowdfunding campaign which successfully met its target of 75 million XVG – not without a little help from TokenPay (TPAY). Such funds were needed so as to green-light the above partnership, according to Verge, who promised its name would be revealed March 26 if the fundraising goal was reached.
When asked about how Verge will add value to their soon-to-be-known-named partner, Sunerok explained:
They’re going to be adding Verge as a payment, banner ads, commercials…the press release of the announcement is going to go worldwide to all press and all media.”
In the interview, Sunerok also discussed the progress of other elements within the Verge ecosystem, such as about RSK smart contracts (42:08), iOS wallet (45:22), and the imminent alpha release of Ring CT (48:50).
Per LiveCoinWatch, $XVG is currently priced at $0.042 (USD); a slight correction after jumping roughly 20 percent in value in the hours following Sunerok’s lengthy interview. The XVG token has been one of the most hardest hit on the cryptocurrency market in recent times, having fallen roughly 86 percent since late December from an all-time high price of $0.291.
